Christian Aid Week · 10–16 May 2026
Your faith.
Make it count.
Every May, our parish joins thousands of churches across the UK to stand with families struggling to put food on the table. This year, St Margaret’s is helping mothers and grandmothers in Nairobi grow food, build livelihoods and keep their children fed.
Together, we’re aiming to raise £1,500.
Donations are processed securely by Christian Aid. Gift Aid adds 25p to every £1 if you’re a UK taxpayer.

A note from Stephen
I’m fundraising this Christian Aid Week to support families facing hunger.
In Nairobi, parents like Fridah are growing food in small spaces to make sure their children can eat. With support from Christian Aid and Beacon of Hope, families are learning how to grow food and build more secure futures.
Thank you for any support you’re able to give. — Stephen.

Why this year matters
A grandmother in Nairobi, doing what every parent does — trying to feed her family.
Fridah lives in Dagoretti, a crowded suburb of Nairobi where land is scarce and food prices keep rising. Like most parents in her community, she wakes every day knowing that if she doesn’t earn money, her grandchildren won’t eat that evening.
Through Christian Aid’s local partner Beacon of Hope, Fridah received agricultural training, seeds and tools to grow vegetables in the small space she has. She now feeds her family and sells the surplus at market.
“Now I can plan. I can buy this; I can buy that. I can help my family.”
What your donation does
- £10Provides seeds and tools for a family to grow their own vegetables.
- £25Funds a place on agricultural training run by Beacon of Hope.
